JIS G3115 SPV315

SPV315 is a steel material with a lower limit of yield point (yield strength) of 315 MPa, and is a Si-Mn steel plate material. It is one of six types of SPV materials that are made as standard for steel materials for pressure vessels. Since it is for pressure vessels, it is characterized by not only tensile strength but also parameters such as yield point, components that affect weldability and bendability that affect workability, which are necessary for calculation of fracture strength. The plate thickness is 6mm or more and 150mm or less, and this plate thickness range is standard for all SPV steel materials other than SPV235.

Some of these grades have undergone a process called thermal processing control, and it is known that low-temperature toughness and weldability will be greatly improved when this is done. The standard stipulates values ​​for carbon equivalent and weld crack susceptibility composition for SPV315 with thermal processing control.
