EN10028 steel plates

EN 10028 steel grade specification is for flat products made of steel for pressure weldable fine grain normalized steel.

Quenched and tempered boiler steel plate P355Q under steel standard EN 10028-6 which is mainly used for building boilers and pressure vessels. In the steel standard EN 10028-6,steel grade P355Q,P460Q,P500Q,P690Q means the minus 20 centi-degree impacting test,P355QH,P460QH,P500QH,P690QH means the minus 20 centi-degree,P355QL1,P460QL1,P500QL1,P690QL1 means minus 40 centi-degree,P355QL2,P460QL2,P500QL2,P690QL2 means doing minus 60 low temperature impacting test when rolling.

Technical Requirements & Additional Services:

  • High tension test
  • Low temperature impacting test
  • Simulated post-welded heat treatment (PWHT)
  • Ultrasonic test under EN 10160,ASTM A435,A577,A578
  • Issued Orginal Mill test certificate under EN 10204 FORMAT 3.1/3.2
  • Shot blasting and Painting, Cutting and welding as per end user’s demands

EN 10028-6 is the European steel standard which includes flat products made of steel for pressure purposes – part 6: weldable fine grain steels, quenched and tempered.

Scope:

This European Standard EN 10028-6 specifies the requirements for flat products for pressure equipment made of quenched and tempered steels as specified in Table 1. The requirements in EN 10028-1:2007 + A1:2009 also apply. NOTE OnceThis European Standard is published in the EU Official Journal (OJEU) under Directive 97/23/EC; presumption of conformity to the Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) of Directive 97/23/EC is limited to technical data of materials in this European Standard (Part 1 and this Part 6 of the series) and does not presume adequacy of the material to a specific item of equipment. Consequently; the assessment of the technical data stated in this material standard against the design requirements of this specific item of equipment to verify that the ESRs of Directive 97/23/EC are satisfied; needs to be done.

More information about the EN 10028-6 standard:

  • The full designation of the standard is “Flat products made of steels for pressure purposes”.
  • The standard covers non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties.
  • Also covered are chrome-moly material grades with varying quantities of chromium and molybdenum.

EN 10028-6 is the European steel standard which includes flat products made of steel for pressure purposes – part 6: weldable fine grain steel, quenched and tempered.

The standard supersedes the old British and DIN standards. Chrome Molybdenum steels, with their higher temperature resistance, come under this standard and this section includes link to EN10028 chrome moly grades which are suitable for the fabrication of pressure vessels and boilers.

Chrome Molybdenum pressure vessel grade steels offer good corrosion resistance and weldability. We supply this material to fabricators who serve the major oil, petrochemical, and gas companies.
