Chinese high speed train sets new world record

It is reported that a China made new generation high speed train CRH380A that will connect Beijing and Shanghai peaked at 486.1 kilometers per hour in a test on November 3 setting a new world record for high speed train.

The old record was also made by China. The Shanghai-Hanzhou high speed train ran at 416.6 kilometers per hour in a trial operation on September 28 which is faster than any other high speed train in operation tests in the world.

The Beijing Shanghai high speed rail goes through seven provinces and municipalities between the two cities and connects the Bohai Ring and Pearl River Delta, two major engines for China economy. With 24 stations, it runs 1,318 kilometers from Beijing South Rail Station to Hongqiao in Shanghai. It also can boast No 1 status in the world in terms of the length installed the technological standard and the operation speed.

The train used in the test on Nov 3 which is named Harmony is the new generation high-speed train made by China. It leads the world technically in many aspects. So it is the fastest and most technologically advanced high speed train in the world. The track laying has been completed for Beijing Shanghai high speed rail on Nov 15. It was the same train that had made a world record in the Shanghai Hangzhou railway in a trial operation on September 28 with 416.6 kilometers per hour.

The new record of 486.1 kilometers per hour marks a significant new achievement in the Beijing Shanghai rail construction a new milestone in China high speed train innovation and an important sign of the rapid development of China high speed train and of China leading role in the world high speed train development.
