Galvanized mild steel pipe
Mild Steel Pipe Galvanized is a tubular shaped pipe of galvanized Mild Steel.
ERW Galvanized Steel Pipe refers to Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipes that have been coated with a protective layer of zinc to prevent corrosion.
ERW Galvanized Steel Pipes are a versatile, durable, and cost-effective solution for various industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Their excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and ease of installation make them a preferred choice in industries such as construction, agriculture, and plumbing.
Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) is a method used to manufacture steel pipes. In this process, a flat steel strip is rolled into a cylindrical shape, and the edges are welded together using electrical resistance. This method produces a continuous and uniform seam, resulting in a strong and smooth pipe surface. ERW pipes are known for their efficiency in production and consistent quality.
ERW steel pipes are manufactured by low-frequency or high-frequency resistance "resistance". They are round pipes welded from steel plates with longitudinal welds. It is used to transport oil, natural gas and other vapor-liquid objects, and can meet various requirements of high and low pressure. At present, it occupies a pivotal position in the field of transportation pipes in the world.
During ERW pipe welding, heat is generated when current flows through the contact surface of the welding area. It heats the two edges of the steel to the point where one edge can form a bond. At the same time, under the action of the combined pressure, the edges of the tube blank melt and squeeze together.
Galvanization involves coating the surface of the steel pipe with a protective layer of zinc to prevent rust and corrosion. There are two primary methods of galvanization:
Galvanization greatly improves the pipe's durability, especially in environments exposed to moisture, chemicals, or harsh weather conditions.
ERW galvanized steel pipes come in various sizes, thicknesses, and lengths, depending on the application. Standard sizes range from small-diameter pipes for plumbing and electrical work to large-diameter pipes for industrial applications.

For pipes or tubes size 4 inch (10.2mm) OD and below, strip is fed into a set of forming rolls which consists of horizontal and vertical rollers so placed as to gradually from the flat strip in to a tube which is then allowed to pass the welding electrodes. The electrodes are copper disks connected to the secondary of a revolving transformer assembly. The copper disk electrodes make contact on each side of the seam and temperature is raised to the welding point. Outside flash is removed by a cutting tool as the tube leaves the electrodes, inside flash is removed either by an air hammer or by passing a mandrel through the welded tube after the tube has been cooled. This is termed as Electric Resistance Welded or ERW tube/pipe.
