What Is BTMCr15 High Chromium White Cast Iron?

BTMCr15 is a premium grade high chromium abrasion-resistant white cast iron formulated under national standard GB/T 8263-2010, the most widely used general wear-resistant casting alloy across heavy industry sectors. Its matrix is evenly distributed with massive hard Cr₇C₃ eutectic carbides after precise smelting and heat treatment, delivering perfect balance of ultra-high abrasion resistance and moderate impact toughness.

The alloy is composed of carbon, chromium as primary elements, plus molybdenum, nickel, copper, and trace rare earth, vanadium, titanium to refine grain structure and optimize comprehensive performance. BTMCr15 can be supplied in as-cast, stress-relieved, fully hardened or soft annealed states to match different working load requirements.

Unlike ordinary carbon steel or low alloy castings, BTMCr15 integral cast components eliminate lining peeling risks, greatly extend equipment service life for pipelines, chutes, pump housings and mill liners under particle scouring, erosion and high-temperature oxidation environments.

Mn13 Manganese Steel Medium 300℃ High Medium-long cost
BTMCr15 High Chromium Cast Iron Excellent 750℃ Medium Highest service value
Cr27 High Chromium Cast Iron Superior 780℃ Low Higher raw material cost

Selection Tip: Choose BTMCr15 for general medium abrasion + medium temperature working conditions to balance cost and service life.

Installation & Service Tips for BTMCr15 Cast Parts

Correct installation and operation can maximize BTMCr15 service cycle:

Avoid heavy hammer striking during hoisting and installation to prevent internal microcracks in casting matrix. When used for pipeline elbows, arrange flow direction to reduce direct particle impact on inner wall impact zone.

Do not exceed the long-term service temperature of 750℃ continuously. For welding repair, use matching high chromium cast iron welding rods, adopt slow cooling process to avoid thermal cracking.

Regular visual inspection of surface wear every 3–6 months; minor abrasion defects can be repaired without full component replacement.

Material Design Superiority of BTMCr15

BTMCr15 alloy formula is optimized for domestic mineral resources and industrial working conditions:

The evenly distributed discontinuous Cr₇C₃ hard carbide phase avoids the brittle continuous carbide structure of low chromium cast iron, achieving both wear resistance and basic impact resistance.

Rare earth, vanadium and titanium trace elements purify molten steel, reduce casting shrinkage cavities and pores, greatly improving casting yield and product stability.

Multi heat treatment states are optional, so clients can select soft annealed state for machining or full quenched state for maximum abrasion demand.

Factory Full Inspection Standards for BTMCr15 Castings

All BTMCr15 castings pass multi-dimensional testing before delivery complying with GB/T 8263:

  • Spectral chemical composition analysis for each furnace molten steel
  • Random hardness test (HBW / HRC) per production batch
  • Charpy impact toughness sampling inspection
  • Ultrasonic UT non-destructive test for internal casting defects
  • Visual surface inspection for sand holes, cracks and shrinkage defects
  • Custom corrosion resistance sampling test on request
  • Dimensional tolerance full inspection for finished cast parts

BTMCr15 Custom Casting One-stop Service

We provide full customized production for all BTMCr15 wear castings based on customer drawings and working parameters:

Adjust casting wall thickness, select matching heat treatment state (as-cast / hardened / annealed), produce special-shaped non-standard liners, elbows, pump bodies and crusher components.

Support technical communication on material grade selection, on-site working condition analysis, installation guidance and long-term spare parts supply contracts for factories and projects.

Shockproof Packaging & Global Shipping Solution

BTMCr15 hard castings adopt anti-collision export packaging to avoid crack damage in transit:

Small cast spare parts are packed with foam inner lining in solid export wooden cases. Large pipeline castings and mill liners are fixed with steel strapping and covered with plastic protective film.

Support FOB, CFR, CIF international trade terms, sea, land and air transportation available. Complete material test certificates, GB/T 8263 inspection reports and installation manuals are attached with shipments for customs clearance and acceptance.
