Basalt Pipes & Fittings

Cast Basalt Lined Piping Systems

Cast basalt lined pipes and fittings provide exceptional wear resistance, corrosion resistance and extended service life for abrasive industrial conveying applications.

Cast Basalt Lined Pipes and Fittings

Cast basalt lined pipes and fittings are advanced wear-resistant pipeline solutions designed for transporting highly abrasive materials such as fly ash, bottom ash, coal powder, mineral slurry, clinker, sand, slag and other bulk solids.

Manufactured using fused cast basalt lining combined with a carbon steel shell, these piping components provide outstanding resistance to abrasion, erosion, corrosion and impact while maintaining excellent structural strength.

Cast basalt lined piping systems have been successfully used in mining operations, thermal power plants, cement factories, steel mills, dredging projects and bulk material handling facilities worldwide.

Compared with conventional steel pipelines, cast basalt lined components can significantly extend service life, reduce maintenance frequency and lower overall operating costs.

Sunny Steel supplies a complete range of cast basalt lined pipes and fittings, including straight pipes, elbows, tees, reducers, Y-pieces and custom fabricated wear-resistant components.

Customized dimensions, lining thicknesses and connection types are available to meet specific project requirements.

What Are Cast Basalt Lined Pipes and Fittings?

Cast basalt lined pipes and fittings consist of an outer steel structure and an inner lining made from fused cast basalt segments. The basalt lining forms a highly wear-resistant barrier that protects the pipeline from continuous abrasion caused by solid particles and slurry flow.

The material is produced by melting selected volcanic basalt at temperatures exceeding 1250°C and subsequently crystallizing it under controlled conditions. The resulting product exhibits exceptional hardness, low water absorption and excellent chemical resistance.

These piping systems are widely recognized as one of the most economical long-term solutions for severe wear applications.
