What is Cast Basalt Pipe Shield?

Cast basalt pipe shields are protective lining components installed on external or internal pipe surfaces to prevent wear caused by high-velocity abrasive media. The shields are manufactured by melting natural basalt rock and casting it into dense, microcrystalline plates or curved segments.

Compared with steel or rubber protection systems, cast basalt shields offer significantly higher abrasion resistance and longer service life in aggressive industrial environments.

Application

The tube shield has a variety of material and the selection of the material shall be subject to the original design of the boiler. The tube shield is divided into straight pipe and bend pipe. The main effect of tube shield is to protect the pipe and increase the service life of the pipe.
